How does it work?

Through this site you are able to borrow items from the Library which helps reduce waste, increases community cohesion and supports those who may not have the means to purchase the equipment or tools they require. The Llani Library of Things helps you save money and reduce waste by affordably renting out useful Things.  

Got a job or project in mind? Or fancy doing a fun activity?

  1. Browse our items or search for something specific. 

  2. If it’s available, place a reservation and you will receive an email confirmation.

  3. Collect your item from one of our two locations. 

  4. Our primary address is: 27 Great Oak Street, Llanidloes SY18 6BW 
    You are free to drop in when we are open but it is highly recommended you     book and reserve your items online first.

      (opposite the chemist) is for returns and collections only.


    • Use your Thing and get stuck into your project.

    • Collect or return your Thing during our open hours
      Tuesday 2-6pm primary location LOT
      Wednesday 4-6pm primary location with 24hrs notice LOT
      Thursday 11-2pm secondary location ABO
      Friday 2-6pm primary location LOT
      Sat 11-1pm secondary location ABO

    • You will receive an email prompting you to return the Thing at the end of your loan period.
      You can borrow it for a further period by booking it out again, if it's available.

    Who are we?

    We are a Llanidloes Energy Sollutions (LES) project. LES is a community led charity looking at innovative, practical ways to tackle  climate change locally, whilst enabling the Mid-Wales town of Llanidloes and the surrounding areas to continue to thrive and grow. We have set up this Library of Things in Llanidloes to support a more sustainable lifestyle and increase community resilience.
